You’ve arrived at WhatAcca.com so it doesn’t take a genius to work out that you might be interested in placing accumulator bets! Congratulations, you’ve arrived at the right page to learn the basics when it comes to football accas and multiple bets on other sports.

I’ve been placing accumulators on a regular basis for around twenty years and what I don’t know about this type of wagering can be written on a very small piece of paper.

This article won’t just tell you how to place an accumulator bet, it will also give you handy acca tips to make sure you always stand the best possible chance of winning. I don’t have a fully-functioning crystal ball to hand, but I have been successful on a long-term basis when it comes to betting accumulators and I’m therefore in a good position to pass on my pearls of wisdom.

First thing’s first, you need to have at least one bookmaker account if you’re going to place an online accumulator. Ideally, you would have a number of betting accounts in order to get the best prices, although if you’re going to choose just one, then we’d go for bet365 who are generally considered to be the best bookie in the world and I wouldn’t disagree with that verdict.

The good news is that bet365 and every other bookie has a new customer bonus available when you get started. So when you sign up and register a bookmaker account, make sure you read about the free bet that can usually be generated when you make a first deposit and then place a first bet. Sometimes the first bet has to be at minimum odds and it’s often the case that your stake is matched with a bonus.

Now It’s Time to Build Your Accumulator Bet

OK, so you’ve registered a new betting account and you’ve funded your account using one of the available payment methods. Providing that you have a money balance, you are now in a position to start betting!

There’s usually a sports menu where you can choose the sport which interests you the most from a betting angle. The majority of my readers love a football acca the most, so let’s focus on this sport and we’ll use a few examples to show you how easy it is to place an accumulator on big leagues such as the Premier League.

Here is an example of how I build an accumulator:

    place an accumulator

As you can see, I’ve gone to the Premier League football coupon and clicked on four different prices in the 1×2 (Full-Time Result) market. Once I’ve clicked on each price, it has automatically populated an online bet slip and I can then head to this bet slip at any stage and check to see what I’ve added.

    Here is my bet slip:

    acca betslip

The great thing about an accumulator betting slip is that it neatly summarises your selections and gives you various betting options along the way. You will see an “X” next to each selection and that allows you to quickly remove the pick if you no longer want it in your accumulator. You can also add more selections to your footy acca if you want a bigger price.

As you can see from the above example, I’ve got a cheeky Premier League acca at just over 5/1 although I prefer to have my accumulator bet at a bigger price so I’ll add in one more selection to bump up the odds so I now have this:

    5 fold acca

So I now have a nice 12/1 football accumulator that has been built on the Premier League. This will do me nicely – we’ve got a banker in the form of Manchester City, three odds-on chances in Wolves, Spurs and Liverpool, while Everton are the riskiest pick according to the latest odds although it bumps up the acca odds from just over 5/1 to 12/1 so we think it’s worth taking the chance. How to Place an Online Accumulator Bet

Now comes the exciting part – we get to place our football accumulator bet with the bookies before cheering it home! As you can see from the above example, I’ve got £30 in my bet365 betting balance and so I have to decide how much to take on this Premier League accumulator.

Choosing your stake comes down to personal preference. For some readers, a £2 bet at the above odds would be about right although others might have an average stake size of £20 for an acca bet like this. It all comes down to what you can afford to gamble and the sort of payout that you’re looking to bank as a result of your punting.

For this accumulator bet, I staked £10 by typing in “10” into the “Stake” field next to where it says “5 Folds”:

    place an acca

We’re now just one step away from placing our accumulator. Have a quick check to make sure you have typed in the right stake amount and that it will land you the expected return should it be settled as a winner. Providing all looks above board, it is time to click on “Place Bet” and get the party started!

    bet confirmed

Hey presto! I am now the proud owner of a bet365 accumulator bet on the latest Premier League football matches. I’ve simply logged into my betting account, headed to the “Soccer” section of the website, clicked on “Premier League” and then gone through the latest coupon and picked out teams that I want in my acca.

    Grab Yourself an Accumulator Bonus

Now this might sound completely crazy, but I don’t actually stand to get a return of £130.39 with this bet. That is because the wonderful bet365 actually add bonuses to winning accumulators depending on how many selections form part of a multiple. In this example, I can land myself a juicy 12% bonus if my five-fold comes in and bet365 highlight it here:

    acca bonus

You will also see that my bet has a “Cash Out” value of £10 which is the stake that I used for this accumulator bet. If my selections start winning, then you can expect the Cash Out amount to steadily increase and customers have the option to take an early profit.
