You might already be aware that William Hill is one of the oldest bookmakers in the business, and that’s for a reason. They have consistently been able to keep with the trends, although predominantly online, and to this day, provide one of the most all-round bookmakers I have seen.
Quick step-by-step guide:
1) The first thing that you will need to place an acca with William Hill is an account. You can sign up to their site by clicking this tracked link which will also allow you to claim £20 in free bets when you bet just £10.
2) Next step is to make sure you have money in your account to bet with. Click the ‘deposit’ button at the top to get started. Remember, you get a £20 in free bets when you bet just £10.
3) Select the market that you want to bet on and find your bets. You add them to your bet slip by simply clicking on the odds for the selection that you want to include.
4) Your selections will be visible from the betting slip and below them will be an ‘Accumulator’ tab. This will show you the number of selections and the price it will pay out.
5) Simply enter the amount you want to wager in the box then click place bet.
Don’t forget: If you don’t have an account with William Hill then you can register by clicking this unique tracking link that will entitle you to up to £25 in the form a free bet with your first deposit.
Where to start
The most obvious thing that you need to get going on William Hill is a funded betting account. I’m not going to talk over how to get one in this article, but you can check out either the William Hill review above or my guide on how to open a William Hill account.
Old timer, still going strong
It’s quite remarkable to see how William Hill has continued to be a leader within the betting industry. They are one of many that have tried to keep up with the revolution that is online betting, but one of few to have succeeded such a dominant scale.
Their accumulator section is one of the more detailed in the industry and I love the integration with companies such as Opta, WHTV and other branded sites.
What William Hill have done is embraced the accumulator and coupon markets, and why not, as it’s easily one of the most popular these days. I like the fact that they offer Acca specific deals such as ‘Acca insurance’ where you get your stake back if one game lets you down.
I realise that this isn’t exactly ground breaking stuff, but it’s the combination of a host of small things such as Acca insurance that make them such a solid match. You can find out more in my review of the William Hill site.
Dedicated coupon section
I just wanted to start by stating that whilst I will be using the football section of the William Hill site for ease, the same principles on how to go about placing your accumulator with William Hill will apply for pretty much every market.
One of the things I really like is that William Hill has integrated a specialist Coupon section. Granted that the number of sports you can find this for is limited, but a nice touch nonetheless.
You need to start by choosing the sport you want from their top navigation section. If you only see about half a dozen here, that’s because you need to click the ‘More Sports’ tab to the right to expand these.
The football section allows you to navigate between a huge array of markets and if you are looking for specific games or results from the next day onwards, then you will need to do a bit of scouting about.
You can however, just scroll down and choose the ‘Match Highlights’ feature for the higher profile games coming up. Alternatively, a handy little ‘coupons’ tab is available at the top of the market to give you a much wider, cleaner list.
Making your selections
Adding selection to your bet slip will then make up your accumulator. To do this, simply click the odds from the table and your bet slip on the right hand side will show your selection.
The odds you see will work in the order of a home win, drawn and away win. These are also denoted by three columns of 1 (home win), X (Draw) and 2 (Away win). A green tab stating ‘Added to bet slip’ along with the selection turning blue will also show a successful selection.
Managing the bet slip
The bet slip can be found to the right hand side of the screen and will include all your selections and the odds for each game. Immediately below these will be the ‘Accumulators/ Multiples’ section.
This section will include a number of different bet types, but for this we simply need to expand the Accumulators tab (Note: It may already be expanded, in which case, we don’t need to click it again).
Now we will be able to see the odds of our accumulator and also where we need to input our stake amount. After inserting the stake we will instantly see the returns if our accumulator is successful, along with the total amount staked at the bottom of the slip.
Once you are happy with your picks, have inserted your bet amount and doubled checked EVERYTHING….you can then go and click the ‘Place Bet’ tab found at the bottom of the bet slip.
Once you have placed your bet, you can go and view all of your open or even settled bets made on that account. All you do is click the ‘My Account’ button at the top and then ‘Statement’ before getting a look at every betting transaction for your account.
