Paddy Power Cash Card

I’ve been a big fan of Paddy Power for a lot of years now. Long term subscribers to my free accumulator tips will know that I use them as one of my “Top 6” betting sites. They have some great betting features too that a lot of players have really resonated with.

They aren’t always the best price, but every now and again offer up a promotion of enhanced price that means they stay in my betting stable. Plus, I love the brand; their Twitter account is hilarious.

The release of the Paddy Power Cash Card is one of their most interesting innovations in my opinion. The betting cash cards are pretty common these days, especially with those that still offer both high street and online betting.

But Paddy Power being Paddy Power, there’s comes with a little twist, which I will discuss in this article.

Two cards; Cash card and Cash Card PPlus

There are actually two cards that you can get hold off with Paddy Power.

    1. Cash card
    2. Cash card PPlus

The cash card is the one that can only be sued in shops for your Paddy Power account. The cash card PPlus is essentially a pre-paid card that can be used for any transactions such as purchasing online, in shops or to withdraw money from an ATM. Basically it works in the same way as your debit or credit card would.

The Cash Card PPLus is linked up to your betting account balance and is powered by MasterCard. This means that whatever balance you have in that account, you can use at your disposal.

The concept behind the card means that you can access your Paddy Power balance right away. You don’t need to wait until funds are withdrawn and land in your bank and you can literally spend them as soon as they hit your Paddy Power account.

    So, what’s the difference?

The main difference is that you use one for betting and the other for everyday life.

The Cash Card is used to link your online account and your betting shop account up. This means that you have one account for each. You can play on any fixed odds betting terminal or use in shops to place bets. You can deposit and withdraw in shops, meaning that you can get instant access to your money.

The Cash Card PPlus can’t be used to place bets in betting shops, nor can it be used on any sports betting terminals or fixed odds betting terminals.

You really need to look at one as a betting card and the other as more of a debit card.

It is worth noting that you can apply to get both cards, so you get the best of both worlds.

Paddy Power Cash Card PPlus limits

As with all debit or credit cards there are limits as to how much you can spend, deposit and withdraw. Here are the limits that you will have to work with for the Cash Card PPlus.

Do you need a Paddy Power Card?

In a word, yes! They are a great addition to the whole Paddy Power set up and mean that you are able to get your hands on your money much quicker than if you were waiting for withdrawals.

My advice would be to apply for both cards though, especially if you are a keen user of Paddy Power betting shops.

To be honest, they should have made it so you have one card that does all of this. It would have been much easier for the user experience and saved a lot of confusion as many people aren’t aware there are two cards and they promote their PPlus card a lot more than their cash cards.

Regardless, they are still great features and something that should hopefully bridge the gap between betting online, betting on the high street and then getting hold of your winnings in a timely manner.
