Championship Betting Tips – Sat 19 March

We’ve got some exciting Championship fixtures this weekend. Fulham are still in a safe position despite a recent wobble. Although there is an intriguing clash between Huddersfield and Bournemouth which could have a big bearing on the automatic promotion spot. We look ahead to the games with some Championship predictions.

Derby County 12:30 Coventry City

Derby badly need wins in order to stay in the Championship this season and we might see the Rams go on the front foot in this Midlands clash. Coventry have slipped down the Championship table in recent weeks. The Sky Blues will need to make a strong finish to the campaign in order to be in the promotion mix. It all points to a high-scoring clash.

Sheffield United 12:30 Barnsley

Paul Heckingbottom is now bidding to steer Sheffield United into the play-offs. We can be fairly confident that they will secure a victory at Bramall Lane. This is a South Yorkshire derby and Barnsley have improved markedly in recent matches. Although the Tykes have struggled to get points on the road this term. Thirteen defeats in eighteen games tells its own story. Check out how to place an over 2.5 goals bet with the WhatAcca.com guide.

Bristol City 15:00 West Bromwich Albion

Steve Bruce is determined to be a success in his latest managerial post at The Hawthorns. With the Baggies six points off the play-off spots right now. The Midlands side have picked up in recent weeks and it’s been seven points from the past two clashes. Bristol City look as though their season is fizzling out and it has been four defeats in the past five encounters. Huddersfield Town 15:00 AFC Bournemouth

Third plays second in the Championship and this is a high stakes clash. With Huddersfield full of goals before a 2-0 defeat at Millwall. Carlos Corberan’s side scored in their previous six matches and have only failed to score in three home games this term. Bournemouth have found the net in their past eight Championship clashes, with BTTS Yes happening in six of the previous seven Cherries’ games.

Hull City 15:00 Luton Town

Could Luton be in the Premier League next season? The Hatters are one of the form teams in the Championship, with Nathan Jones’ side having beaten Preston 4-0 on Tuesday. They have also recently won at Stoke and Coventry, with seven away wins on the board this season. Hull are unpredictable and have lost their past four home games, with the Tigers more of a work in progress.

Reading 15:00 Blackburn Rovers

Reading are scrapping for their lives at the foot of the Championship table, with Barnsley breathing down their necks. We’re expecting the Royals to get on the front foot. It’s worth noting that the Berkshire side have scored 61 goals in 18 games at the Mad Stad this season. Blackburn have potentially turned a corner after beating Derby and they’ll be gunning for another victory.

Teams such as Blackburn Rovers and West Brom will still hope to make a late run at the play-off spots. Especially as we approach the business end of the Championship season. Tony Mowbray and Steve Bruce have engineered promotion before. Although perhaps Luton and Nottingham Forest are the sides who will be lining up.
