With week 3 upon us, here is the WhatAcca.com League Two GW3, a.k.a Game Week 3 Preview.
The League Two table is slowly starting to take shape, with Wycombe, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Burton the teams to record maximum points from their first two matches and the bookies now regard the Black Cats as a firm favourite to land promotion.
However, their clash against the Brewers is sure to be a tough one, while Pompey have an altogether easier clash against Shrewsbury. We predict what’s going to happen on Tuesday night.
TUESDAY 18TH AUGUST
Barrow 19:45 Exeter City
We’re surprised that Barrow are the betting outsiders for this clash, with Mark Cooper’s side winning for our acca on Saturday and we’re expecting more of the same for this clash against the Grecians. Exeter were tonked 3-0 at Leyton Orient and now have a long trip north for this clash which might play into the hands of their opponents.
BEST BET: Barrow Asian Handicap 0
Bradford City 19:45 Stevenage
While Bradford are strong betting favourites to win this clash, they left it very late to overcome Oldham on Saturday thanks to a last-ditch penalty, having earned a goalless draw at Exeter in their opening game. Perhaps the Bantams will be stifled by a Stevenage side who are going to be bouncing after successive victories. The WhatAcca.com team provide useful Football Acca tips of the day suggestions that are becoming more and more accurate.
BEST BET: Draw
Colchester United 19:45 Mansfield Town
We’re surprised that Mansfield are trading at such big betting odds to win this clash. Ultimately they are a stronger side than their opponents and have taken maximum points from their two clashes, with Colchester already looking like one of the weaker sides in the division and they could be overrun in midfield.
BEST BET: Mansfield to win
Port Vale 19:45 Carlisle United
Port Vale are short of goals at the early stage of the season, with Darrell Clarke’s side having drawn blanks in their opening two games. The Valiants are starting to click into gear as they finished Saturday’s game against Tranmere strongly, although Carlisle are capable of running a tight ship and we can’t see any more than two goals here. Why not check out all of the latest EFL League Two fixtures to see when Port Vale are playing their next game.
BEST BET: Under 2.5 Goals
Rochdale 19:45 Forest Green Rovers
Forest Green were facile winners away to Walsall on Saturday and we’re expecting Rob Edwards’ side to claim yet another three points at Spotland, with seven goals being plundered in the first three encounters. Rochdale were beaten at Harrogate in their opener before a goalless draw against Scunthorpe.
BEST BET: Forest Green to win
Swindon Town 19:45 Tranmere Rovers
Tranmere Rovers have kept consecutive clean sheets in League Two, with the Wirral side deploying a 3-4-3 formation at Vale Park which saw the visitors claim a goalless draw after a 1-0 win over Walsall. However, Micky Mellon’s side are struggling to create meaningful chances and that’s why the draw is probably the best option here.
BEST BET: Draw
