2023-24 Football Accumulator Betting Tips

On Friday 4 August, the 2023/24 Championship season kicks off in the form of Sheffield Wednesday v Southampton, while the League One and League Two campaigns begin a day later along with the remaining Championship matches for the first round of fixtures.

On Friday 11 August, Burnley and Manchester City kick off the 2023/24 season and we’re now looking ahead to the four divisions and working out the best outright bets. Last season, we went for City to win the Premier League, while we also correctly predicted Leyton Orient to secure the League Two title.

We also hit the bar by going for Ipwich Town to secure the League One title and Middlesbrough gallantly ended up finishing in fourth place. Therefore, we’ll hope to continue with this strong track record when it comes to our 2023/24 outright accumulator.

Premier League: Manchester City

Why mend a bike that isn’t broken? City have won six of the past seven Premier League titles and it makes sense to include them in our season-long accumulators. Only Arsenal caused any bother for Pep Guardiola’s side, although the Gunners ended up trailing the champions by five points and it was fairly comfortable in the end.

City might have lost Ilkay Gundogan although they have recruited Mateo Kovacic and there could be more to come from Kalvin Phillips. We expect Erling Haaland to potentially surpass his 36 goals that were plundered in the top flight last season, with Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Rodri expected to continue pulling the strings.

Championship: Leeds United

There’s little doubt that the relegated teams from the Premier League generally have the financial clout to make a concerted assault on the top places in the Championship, with Leicester, Leeds and Southampton heading the betting.

The Saints were abject last season when finishing rock-bottom and Russell Martin might take some time to build a winning team. However, Daniel Farke has a strong record in the Championship, having twice steered Norwich to promotion and the German might be able to do the same with Leeds.

They are trading at nearly double the odds of Leicester City who have lost a number of players including James Maddison. We would expect Leeds to recruit shrewdly after a recent clear-out and they can be the ones to land the title.

League One: Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers have enjoyed an upward trajectory under Ian Evatt and it seems logical that the Lancashire outfit will be in the mix next season. They managed 81 points from 46 games played last season before losing to Barnsley in the play-offs, although they have further strengthened the squad for another promotion assault.

Josh Dacres-Cogley is an eye-catching arrival from Tranmere and we’ve also seen Joel Coleman, Nathan Baxter, Dan Nlundulu and Will Forrester sign for an ambitious club who could well seal automatic this time around. League Two: Stockport County

Stockport lost in the League Two play-off final to Carlisle United last season but we might expect the Hatters to challenge for the title this time around. Signing Nick Powell is a real statement of intent and we can expect the forward to find the net plenty of times for a team who should be in the top three.

Dave Challinor has previously steered County into League Two and they will have benefitted from a season in the fourth tier to consolidate, with Stockport preferred over Wrexham at the prices.
