Darts Accumulator Tips and Guide

I have always enjoyed a bet on the darts, although the past few years have been brilliant considering that the PDC Tour has completely exploded. Premier League Darts gets bigger and better every year, the World Darts Championship at Ally Pally is an absolute treat and there are lots of other high-profile tournaments that take place throughout the calendar year.

The great thing about punting on this sport is that it lends itself to placing darts accumulator bets. There are usually a clutch of matches taking place and you can pick out the winner of each game and put them together in an acca. If you’re betting a darts player as a single, the return is fairly modest although an accumulator can see you enjoy a big return from a relatively small stake.

What is a Darts Accumulator Bet?

If you back Michael van Gerwen to win his latest match, then that would be a single bet. If you combined him with Gary Anderson, then that would be a double. Add Rob Cross as a third selection and you’re making it a treble. If you add any more selections to form part of the same bet, then you’ve got yourself a darts accumulator! The odds of every player on your bet slip are multiplied and you can choose the stake to bet with.

There is generally no limit as to the number of selections you can make as part of your darts acca. For a massive darts tournament such as the World Championship, you will find an enormous number of first round matches and you can pick out the players that you want in your accumulator and watch the odds build up until you’re happy with the overall return that you can land from your nominated stake.

How Do I Place My Darts Acca?

The good news is that the bookies make it super-easy for you to slap down an accumulator on the darts. I will log into my favourite bookmaker website and go through the latest darts coupon, picking out the players that I fancy to win that day. If you haven’t signed up with a particular bookie, you might even be able to land a free darts bet as part of the service.

As you add various players to your bet slip, you are able to look at the bet slip and see how many are included. You can choose to continue adding more or perhaps you want to change the selections and reduce the risk. Once you are happy with your selections and the overall odds, you can now place your bet. Choose the stake that you want to bet with and confirm your bet, with the overall potential returns generally showing.

        Best Darts Betting Markets

Here are my favourite darts bets that I often put in my accas. Like with my football accas, I do like to mix and match to get the best value accumulator I can.

        • Player to Win
        • Player Handicap
        • Total Match 180’s (Over/Under)
        • Player 180’s

I can always find great value in these markets and they are great for accumulators.

I personally love an Over 180’s bet though. You can’t beat the excitement of watching a match and willing every players throw to be a 180!! I do a quick head to head research on the match and see how many 180’s on average the two players have been throwing. If both high and the line is good, it’s a good bet to take the over.

Does My Darts Accumulator Have to Include Players?

While most of my darts accas tend to focus on the Match Winner market, there are other betting markets which are suitable for accumulator bets. The two-way handicap betting market is especially good if you’re looking at a few favourites who are massive odds-on to win their match but available at a bigger price if you think they can win by a sizeable margin.

You can instead choose to place a darts accumulator bet on the Correct Score betting market if you fancy Van Gerwen and a few other leading players to win 3-0 in sets for their first round encounters. Pretty much any betting market is applicable to placing an accumulator although it’s generally risky to do an acca with selections that are all at bigger odds as the probability of them all winning is very low.

Why Should I Place a Darts Acca?

I have always enjoyed punting a darts accumulator bet because they are a lot of fun. Say you are watching a night of World Championship Darts action and there are five matches taking place. You can go through the coupon and pick out a player for each game, which means you are a step closer to profit every time one of your selection wins.

If you make four or five selections and place a darts acca, you will also get bigger odds than just betting on the individual matches. It might be that your accumulator reaches odds of around 10/1 and has a reasonable chance of winning, with customers able to place a small stake and get some value for their money.

In the early rounds of a darts tournament, it’s pretty typical that there are some favourites trading at odds-on. Therefore, these players are not an attractive proposition from a punting point-of-view although they are much better if you load them into an acca with some of the other favourites. You might be surprised how big a return you can get from your stake some of the time.

Cash Out On Your Darts Accumulator Bet

You can place a darts accumulator bet and make a profit without all the legs needing to win. It might sound crazy but it’s something I do regularly thanks to the advent of Cash Out, a facility that is now offered by pretty much every bookie out there. Cash Out is fantastic for accumulator bets as you are given an offer depending on how well your bet is going.

Naturally, if you place a darts acca and the first leg fails, then you have lost your bet. However, if the first leg wins, then you will have a Cash Out value which is bigger than your original stake. You now have a choice over whether to take this amount or let the bet ride in the hope that the Cash Out amount either gets bigger or that the acca simply wins.

There is no right or wrong answer with Cash Out and it’s a judgement call when you’re faced with a decision over whether to take the money. Thankfully, Partial Cash Out is often available which means you can secure some kind of return and remain in the bet. The slider functionality allows you to choose how much to take.

Place a World Championship Darts Acca

For many, the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace is one of the highlight sporting events of the year and it’s certainly among my favourites. The tournament runs over the festive period and there are more than 100 players who descend on north London to compete for the biggest prize in the sport.

On a daily basis, there are some fantastic opportunities to place a darts accumulator where you can look through the match coupon and pick out the players or bets that you want to combine together. You might pick one player to win their darts match and another to win by a correct score of 3-0 so you can mix and match when it comes to betting markets.

Enjoy a Premier League Darts Accumulator Bet

The world’s best darts players compete in the Premier League Darts every season. The Premier League takes place over several months, with the top-ranked players competing on a weekly basis at a series of venues all over the UK, Ireland and parts of Europe. They play the best of twelve legs and can potentially draw their match 6-6.

Premier League Darts accumulator bets are very commonplace due to the fact that you will get five or six matches every time there is a night of darts. You can therefore go through the coupon and choose either Player A, Player B or the Draw and combine them together as part of a multiple bet.

The good thing about Premier League matches is that the matches are short and sharp, so you can quickly find out whether your acca is still alive or you might need to start over. Sometimes an acca might include a player to score more 180’s than his opponent or alternatively have a Higher Checkout during their match.

Can I Get a Free Darts Accumulator Bet?

There are a number of ways to secure free bets or bookie bonuses with the various online bookmakers. Firstly, you should be able to get a free bet when you first open a bookmaker account. After making a deposit, you normally have to place a qualifying bet at particular odds and darts accumulator bets are generally allowed providing they fulfil the minimum odds requirement.

Once your qualifying bet has been settled, there is then the option to get a free bet and this can be enjoyed on a darts betting market. It’s great to get some risk-free cash which can be used to back a number of selections in an acca. You might also find that there is sometimes an accumulator bonus with certain bookies who might add extra to your overall winnings.

How to Place a Darts Bet Builder

A Bet Builder is one of the most recent innovations that has been created by the bookmakers and this is a fantastic way of building a darts accumulator bet on just one match. Rather than pick different players to win their games, you are focusing on one match and combining different outcomes to happen.

For example, you might back Michael van Gerwen to win his match, record more 180’s than his opponent and also have the Highest Checkout. There might also be the opportunity to back him to win by a certain correct score or win on a handicap bet too. The Bet Builder can be a fantastic way of boosting your odds and creating a bet that is unique to you.

        Darts Accumulator FAQ’s

Can I Place an In-Play Darts Accumulator?

Yes, In-Play selections can be combined with pre-match selections when it comes to accumulator bets. So if a night of darts has already started and you want to back a player in the first match in an acca with other selections, then you can do this. Bear in mind that the In-Play odds tend to change on a frequent basis, so you might have to be relatively quick if you want to take the price that’s available.

How Do I Get the Best Odds for a Darts Acca?

As you know, there are lots of bookmakers who provide darts betting odds and the prices tend to be different across the operators. Therefore, there might be a big difference when it comes to the accumulator odds and it pays to shop around and secure the best prices. It also helps when it comes to getting a bigger Cash Out payout if you choose to close your bet at an earlier stage.

Can I Place Darts Accumulator Bets on my Mobile?

Yes, most bookies have really good mobile-optimised versions of their websites and also apps which you can download and they make it super easy to bet. It should be easy to navigate towards the darts section and go through a coupon, with the bet slip being populated with various selections along the way. It’s safe to bet through mobile and you can deposit and withdraw funds in the normal way.

How Do I Get My Darts Accumulator Winnings?

Back in the old days, you would have to return to the betting shop to collect your winnings, although online betting means that your wager is settled within a few minutes of the last game being played. The winnings are then added to your online betting balance and you can either choose to make a withdrawal or bet with the returns depending on what you want to do.

Can I Check the Progress of My Darts Acca?

Yes, it’s really easy to see your darts accumulator once you’ve placed it. It can usually be found in the “My Bets” section and, when a particular match has ended, you can then return to the bet and see how many legs of your acca have won. There is usually a tick next to the selections which have won and a cross appears if you have lost with that bet. Sometimes you can edit your darts acca and remove the losing selections and bet again.
