Sunday Acca Tip BTTS Treble 6th Aug 2023

There aren’t a huge number of games being played on Sunday, although we’ve identified three games where both teams can find the net during the ninety minutes. If we put these selections together in a BTTS accumulator, then we achieve a handsome potential return from a small stake.

What we especially like about a BTTS acca is that there’s always a chance to win right until the final few minutes of the match. We’re heading north of the border for one of our picks, with the Community Shield also likely to see both sides find the net. There’s also a teatime encounter at the Stadium of Light which has caught our eye.

    Hibernian v St Mirren

There should be goals scored at both ends when Hibernian clash with St Mirren, with the two teams meeting as recently as May. At Easter Road, Hibs raced into a two-goal lead and had six shots on target before the Saints scored what turned out to be a consolation effort, although they themselves had four shots on target.

Hibernian are generally good for goals on home soil and they pilfered thirty-six goals across nineteen games in front of their own fans, with St Mirren averaging more than a goal per game on the road last term and they were also defensively porous.

    Man City v Arsenal

Manchester City and Arsenal clash in the Community Shield final on Sunday, with Pep Guardiola’s side strong favourites to claim this piece of silverware. However, the same applied twelve months ago when the Cityzens fell short against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.

It’s possibly not a match that Guardiola regards as a must-win encounter although it’s always likely that City will find the net during a match, especially with Erling Haaland looking to warm up for the season proper and the Norwegian scored thirty-six goals last time out.

There’s also Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez providing some cut and thrust, with a high-scoring encounter potentially on the cards. Arsenal have shown their attacking mettle in pre-season friendly clashes, with the Gunners putting five past Barcelona and they should be able to cope with the loss of Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian is sidelined for the beginning of the season, although it could give Kai Havertz the opportunity to shine in a false nine position, while it’s not easy to forget how instrumental Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were in front of goal.

    Sunderland v Ipswich

Finally, we head to the Stadium of Light for a clash where both teams might also find the net. Ipswich Town might be Championship new boys although Kieran McKenna’s team scored over 100 goals in League One last season and they should provide plenty of cut and thrust.

Sunderland made the Championship play-offs last season and they scored and conceded thirty-three goals at the Stadium of Light last season. Tony Mowbray will be keen to make a winning start and they might have to meet fire with fire. Feels like a bit of an acca banker at nice odds.
