Saturday Acca Tips from the experts 5th Aug 2023

The Championship, League One and League Two seasons begin this weekend, with the WhatAcca.com team looking to make a winning start with their football accumulators.

We’ve got lots of useful betting information and that includes a Win Acca which features a selection from each of the three Football League divisions. There isn’t much form to read at this point in time, although we’ll roll the dice with the following selections. See our predicted 1-24 Championship final standings if you are looking to place season long bets.

    Watford

We’re kicking off our accumulator bet with WATFORD to win their opening clash at Vicarage Road, with Valerien Ismael taking charge of the Hornets and hoping to make it through the season. We know that there are no guarantees although the Frenchman did perform well with Barnsley in the Championship under similar circumstances.

Joao Pedro might have left the club but Tom Ince, Jake Livermore and Jamal Lewis should be quality additions and we’re backing the home side to overcome a Rangers side who have several problems of their own on the eve of the football season.

Gareth Ainsworth is a highly capable manager although there are financial difficulties at Loftus Road, with the former Wycombe boss potentially fighting a losing battle. The departures of Seny Dieng and Rob Dickie could end up proving telling.

    Portsmouth

They’re among the favourites to win the League One title and PORTSMOUTH can get their campaign off to a flyer by beating a Bristol Rovers team who have just changed their ownership structure. However, the Gas haven’t managed to sign many players despite keeping Aaron Collins.

As for Pompey, John Mousinho has done a sterling job at Fratton Park since taking over from Danny Cowley back in December. There have been a spate of summer signings in a bid to make a serious promotion assault, with Kusini Yengi looking to be the most intriguing capture and he’s arrived from Western Sydney.

We think that Portsmouth will boast strong home form based on their efforts towards the back end of the previous campaign, with Bristol Rovers having lost eleven times on the road last term and Joey Barton’s side could find life tough going.

    Bradford

Our third and final pick is BRADFORD CITY. The Bantams made it to the League Two play-offs last season before losing to Carlisle United, with the Yorkshire side now targeting a top three finish and Mark Hughes’ side can get off to a winning start against a Crawley side who could be in a whole world of trouble.

The Red Devils are fighting an uphill struggle to stay afloat in the fourth tier and they might not be able to handle the attacking might of Andy Cook who was the top scorer last term. There is no doubt that Bradford will have the majority of the ball in this game and they look like a quality pick to bump up the accumulator odds and hopefully secure a winning return.
