World Cup Quarter Final Betting Preview and Tips

The World Cup quarter finals take place between Friday 9 December and Saturday 10 December. With England having made it to the last eight stage of the competition. They clash against a difficult France team, while Netherlands clash with Argentina and we could end up witnessing some close encounters.

Brazil v Croatia, Friday 3pm KO

Brazil turned on the style when beating South Korea and they should be relatively fresh when facing a Croatia team who played 120 minutes against Japan before winning on penalties. The Blazers will put plenty of men behind the ball in an attempt to nullify their South American opponents although they are big betting outsiders.

We’re expecting a relatively comfortable win for Tite’s side who are likely to be unchanged, with Neymar back in the number ten role and there is plenty to like about the way in which the team move the ball and create chances. Croatia have not been particularly impressive in this tournament, with Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic needing to play a blinder in the midfield engine room. We think this could be a difficult afternoon for a team who will feel a decent sense of achievement at reaching the quarter final although they might struggle to get out of their own half here.

Netherlands v Argentina, Friday 7pm KO

We’ve got a repeat of the 1978 World Cup final, with Netherlands the betting outsiders to win this World Cup quarter final clash. It’s somewhat surprising to find that Louis van Gaal’s side are trading at such big outsiders. Considering the level of performance that was produced against the USA.

Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo are operating well in tandem. While the roving full-backs of Denzel Dumfries and Daley Blind should mean that the Dutch carry a big attacking threat. There’s also the reassuring presence of Virgil van Dijk in central defence, with Argentina looking too short a price. La Albiceleste are not a one-man team although there seems to be a heavy reliance on Lionel Messi to make things happen. The PSG maestro has helped Argentina out of a few tight holes already in this tournament. And his presence in the team has surely led to the bookies making them firm favourites. This World Cup has seen more bettors using Betfred acca insurance and other insurances, to increase probability of a return from their bets.

We think there could be a high-scoring game in this clash. Although it was hard not to be impressed by a Netherlands side who are full of attacking prowess, with Argentina potentially vulnerable. Portugal v Morocco, Saturday 3pm KO

Portugal had a new lease of life against Switzerland and claimed a 6-1 victory in their last sixteen clash which looked tricky on paper. Cristiano Ronaldo has been replaced by Goncalo Ramos and the Benfica youngster bagged a hat-trick on Tuesday night. It’s hard to get away from the fact that they will go better than Spain and get the job done in normal time here.

Morocco are going to put up some strong resistance and ensure that they maintain that amazing clean sheet record. However, what happens when / if the Atlas Lions eventually concede? It’s going to take some achievement to stop opponents who looked like genuine World Cup contenders.

We are going to side with Portugal to win this clash without conceding. Pepe continues to be a big game player and we’re not sure if Morocco will have too much of a Plan B despite the presence of the talented Hakim Ziyech in the group.

BEST BET: Portugal + BTTS No

England v France, Saturday 7pm KO

England played an excellent hour of football to sink Senegal. With the Three Lions setting up a quarter final clash against a France side who beat Poland earlier that day. The two European rivals could play out an evenly-matched contest although we’re surprised that the Three Lions are trading at such a big price.

Therefore, we will back England to win this game along with both teams finding the net. Kylian Mbappe has scored five goals and the Paris Saint-Germain forward could continue to be a lively threat for the French. Although it’s possible that Les Bleus are slightly reliant on the star man. Why not check out the latest football accumulator tips or consider placing an accumulator on William Hill.

England seem a slightly more well-rounded team with Jude Bellingham pulling the strings in midfield. And we might expect Gareth Southgate to name an unchanged team for this encounter. With Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka offering a threat from out wide. Harry Kane is also a centre forward that should give the French defence a few issues.

England will feel as though they can get on the front foot. Against a team who haven’t kept a clean sheet in the clash. And they are missing plenty of key personnel in the form of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba and Lucas Hernandez. From learning about a horse racing accumulator to picking the right Betfred football coupons, WhatAcca.com has it covered.
