2022-23 Football Accumulator Betting Tips

The 2022-23 football season is fast approaching the big kick-off. With the Championship, League One and League Two kicking off on 30 July before the Premier League gets started on Friday 5 August.

At this stage of proceedings, we are looking for some bets that are going to provide interest throughout the course of the season. Many customers like to put together an antepost betting accumulator. Where the aim is to select the winner of the four English divisions and it can be an exciting ride that hopefully lasts more than a few months.

Premier League: Manchester City

We are not going to win any prizes for originality. However, a season-long accumulator needs a banker and Manchester City fit that description. Pep Guardiola failed in his pursuit of Harry Kane last season but ErlingHaaland is a 21-year-old goal machine with a dazzling future. And could help the Cityzens surpass the 99 goals that were notched last term.

With Kalvin Phillips adding steel in the midfield engine room, this City team will continue to take all the beating. They have been champions in four of the past five seasons and Liverpool might suffer without Sadio Mane helping to cause problems to opposition defences.

Championship: Middlesbrough

We just can’t resist the chance to back another Chris Wilder-managed team in the Championship. This is someone who steered Sheffield United from League One up to the Premier League. And then kept the Blades in the top flight. The manager has a proven track record and should be able to go close with Middlesbrough.

As always, the Championship landscape is a lot more open than the Premier League. We’ve typically got Norwich City and Watford trading as favourites. And they’re likely to be strong with the accumulated parachute payments. However, Boro can be taken at a bigger price and there were signs last season that they can challenge.

League One: Ipswich Town

Despite failing to land a top six spot in League One last season. Ipswich Town were regarded as one of the best in the division during the final months of the campaign. Kieran McKenna’s side were defensively ridiculous at times and just short of goals that could propel them to a top six finish. However, the squad is now taking shape at Portman Road. And we’re happy to take the Tractor Boys over co-favourites Sheffield Wednesday. We might also see Derby County challenging at the top end after a recent takeover went through although they might need a season of adjustment.

League Two: Leyton Orient

Stockport County were National League champions last season. And the bookies are predicting that a consecutive promotion could be on the cards. Dave Challinor steered Hartlepool into League Two before doing the same with the Hatters. And he’s made a number of eye-catching signings at Edgeley Park this summer.

However, Stockport’s odds look a touch on the short side and the same applies to Bradford City. At a much bigger price, we’ll take a chance on Leyton Orient who themselves have a big fanbase. And they also have the wily Richie Wellens in charge. The former Swindon manager knows what it takes to achieve promotion. They were impressive in the final few months of the previous campaign.
